China's agriculture ministry reported a highly pathogenic H5N6 avian flu outbreak at a poultry farm in Yangzhou, Jiangsu, with 11,810 birds on the farm. Authorities have culled more than 31,000 birds, and related outbreaks were confirmed in Yunnan and Hunan.
Poultry losses and culling reduce domestic chicken supply locally and can trigger trade restrictions on poultry, modestly supporting feed demand shifts and softening chicken prices in affected provinces.
