A German university press release reported the discovery of a glucogenic lysine degradation pathway in E. coli and other bacteria. The research was led by Professor Jörg Hartig at the University of Konstanz.
Lysine had previously been considered solely ketogenic.
The study is basic science with no measurable impact on lysine supply, demand or feed prices. It does not affect the market.
