The Canola Council of Canada posted updated nutritive values for solvent extracted canola meal on its website, including higher rumen undegradable protein and digestible NDF values. The revised figures are meant to improve accuracy in dairy ration formulation programs.
More accurate dairy formulation values could make canola meal easier to justify in rations, supporting its demand versus soybean meal over time, though the effect on prices is gradual.
