Viet Dragon Securities says softer US-China trade talks are improving Vietnam's financial market, with the FX rate and short-term rates easing and foreign investment inflows recorded over the last two months. The securities firm expects the USD/VND rate to rise toward 23,000 by the end of the first quarter.
Three-month interbank rates are near 5.2%, the highest in recent years.
Easier US-China trade relations reduce global risk for Asian currencies and can steady import costs for Vietnamese feed buyers. Any dong weakness would still raise the local price of dollar-priced feed ingredients.
