World vegetable oil prices rose again this week. Chicago soybean oil gained 3.5% on the week, supported by the European Commission's decision to allow U.S. soy-based biodiesel into the EU.
Ukrainian sunflower oil also climbed, while Malaysian palm oil eased back from a jump to 566 $/ton.
The EU biodiesel opening adds demand for soybean oil, which supports vegetable oil prices and competes with feed-grade oil and meal supplies. Palm oil's softer tone and rising sunflower oil prices suggest mixed signals across the oils complex.
