Indian 5% broken parboiled rice export quotes eased to $376-$383 per tonne from a four-month high as the rupee weakened and African demand stayed sluggish. Thai 5% broken rice was quoted at $380-$400 per tonne FOB Bangkok, with traders expecting prices to fall as the new harvest arrives.
A weaker rupee lowers Indian export prices and the new Thai harvest adds supply, both pointing to softer Asian rice benchmarks. Feed buyers using broken rice or rice bran should expect little near-term price support.
