A study from the University of Guelph and the University of Berlin finds that lysine utilization efficiency in Nile tilapia falls as body weight rises. Marginal efficiency was 68% for small fish, 63% for medium and 47% for large.
The finding refines lysine requirement models for fish feed, which could slightly change formulation for aquaculture. It has no immediate effect on commodity prices.
