Russian fertilizer producer Acron reported 2018 nitrogen output up 11% to 4.24m tonnes, with urea production up 15% to 1.02m tonnes. Ammonium nitrate supply rose as Ukraine banned Russian AN and EU anti-dumping tariffs blocked Russian product, and new urea capacity came online in late 2018.
Rising Russian nitrogen supply and expanded capacity point to more fertilizer availability, which tends to weigh on nitrogen prices and modestly ease crop production costs.
