Poultry economist Paul Aho, speaking at IPPE in Atlanta on February 13, projected that the US poultry market will gain from economic recovery and lower grain prices in 2019. He expects consumption growth, a rebound in commodity prices over the next decade, and a return of US soybean imports to China as tariffs are removed.
Projected stronger poultry demand supports chicken prices, while expected Chinese soybean buying would firm the soybean complex. Long-term feed price increases would raise costs for animal-feed buyers.
