The UK Poultry Health and Welfare Group and Defra held a joint workshop on how farms should recover after a Notifiable Avian Disease outbreak. Discussion covered biosecurity, communication, contingency planning and steps to restore normal activity for farms, zones and the country.
Faster recovery from avian disease outbreaks would shorten the period of reduced poultry output, which affects poultry meat and feed demand. The workshop is procedural and does not describe a new outbreak or a measurable supply change.
