Wholesale Grade A large egg prices have fallen nearly 30% since the start of January, reaching six-month lows as of January 25. USDA-quoted Grade A medium eggs dropped nearly 40% over the same period and more than 50% since late November.
Nest run and processor egg prices also fell sharply amid weak retail demand and ample supply.
Excess graded medium eggs pushed toward breakers and processors weigh on egg product values, while weak egg prices reduce the cost of egg-based ingredients for feed and pet food. Prices remain under pressure unless seasonal Easter demand or stronger egg product demand absorbs the surplus.
