DTN reports retail fertilizer prices softened in early March 2019 for the first time in several months, with half of the major fertilizers slightly lower. DAP averaged $511/ton, MAP $535/ton, urea $404/ton and UAN28 $270/ton.
Prices remain up to 20% higher than a year earlier.
Easing retail fertilizer prices slightly reduce spring input costs, but year-over-year levels remain elevated. The change is small and unlikely to move feed grain prices.
