Analyst Kevin Bost forecasts a CME Lean Hog Index averaging about $81 in Q2, $82 in Q3 and $70 in Q4, with prices peaking near $90 in July. His forecast assumes a 10% year-on-year rise in US pork exports in Q2 and 31% in both Q3 and Q4, driven by China demand and firm wholesale demand.
He spoke during the Quarterly Hogs and Pigs call.
