EFPRA has raised concerns that a hard Brexit could stop Category 1 material from moving to the UK for incineration. It is asking the European Commission to adopt a regulation that keeps these shipments open after a hard Brexit.
The association also clarified that Category 1 material does not include meat intended for human consumption.
Trade disruption in meat and bone meal would leave more material in the EU market, creating mild downward pressure on the price of this feed ingredient.
