Finland's VTT announced the OatHow project, funded by Business Finland, to study how oat cultivar and batch quality affect processability. Finnish oat consumption is about 7.3 kg per capita and rising around 10% a year.
The research targets food-grade oat quality rather than feed supply or prices, so its impact on oat markets is limited.
