Germany's Thyssen Schachtbau signed a contract to make four hoisting plants for IOOO Slavkaliy's Nezhinsky potash project in Belarus. The mine will produce up to 2 million tonnes of potassium chloride per year, with first deliveries expected in mid-2020.
This is a equipment contract for a future mine that adds potash capacity only after 2020, so the near-term price impact is minimal. It is a longer-term supply addition to watch.
