Argentina's economic activity fell 6.8% year-on-year in March 2019, a steeper drop than the 4.8% decline in February, according to statistics agency Indec. Consultancy Ecolatina cited forex volatility, higher inflation and higher interest rates as drivers, and expects a better second quarter supported by strong agricultural output.
A weakening domestic economy reduces local demand for goods and feed, while stronger farm output in the second quarter could support Argentine grain and oilseed supply.
