The Global Aquaculture Alliance and IFFO released a report on Southeast Asian trawl fisheries that supply both food and fishmeal. It covers Thailand and Vietnam and highlights poor management, weak enforcement, and overfishing.
The report also cites improvements, with 90 percent of fisheries reasonably well managed according to 2018 data.
The report focuses on fisheries governance and sustainability rather than new supply changes, so it has little near-term effect on fishmeal prices.
