AEGIC scientists in Australia are developing oat noodles, oat rice and oat milk products to meet rising Chinese demand for oats. Dried noodles with over 50% oat flour were produced in a jointly funded project with GRDC.
This is early-stage product development with no immediate supply change, but it points to growing long-term Chinese demand for milling oats that could support Australian oat exports.
