Peru's Production Ministry reported anchovy catches of 813,306 tons between April 28 and May 22, equal to 38.73% of the 2.1 million ton quota. Landings are running at about 44,000 tons per day.
Small fish under 12 cm made up 8.1% of catches, below the 13% projected by IMARPE.
Fast catch progress means fishmeal supply reaches the market sooner, adding to near-term availability. Low juvenile share supports sustainability and reduces the risk of early closure.
