Evonik officially commissioned its second DL-methionine complex in Singapore on June 18, 2019, after a two-year build. Each plant has 150,000 metric tons of annual capacity, lifting Evonik's global DL-methionine capacity to about 730,000 metric tons.
Added methionine capacity increases global supply of a key poultry and swine feed amino acid, which tends to pressure methionine prices lower.
