Brazil's competition authority legal unit recommended that Nippon Soda, Evonik Degussa and Sanofi Aventis not be fined for their role in an international methionine cartel. The recommendation is a step in the CADE investigation and has not yet been a final ruling.
A fine-free recommendation removes a possible penalty overhang on methionine suppliers, so it has little direct effect on methionine supply or prices.
