Peru's Production Ministry reports anchovy catches of 1.641 million tons between April 28 and June 18, equal to 78.18% of the 2.1 million ton quota. Daily landings fell from 43,000 tons in April and May to 25,000 tons in June because of unusual swell.
With most of the quota already landed and June catches slowing, less anchovy remains available for fishmeal production. This supports fishmeal prices as the season nears its end.
