Fitch Solutions revised its 2019 average forecast for the Vietnamese dong to VND23,300 per USD from VND23,440, and expects only a slight weakening over the rest of the year. The forecast cites strong FDI inflows and supply-chain shifts away from China.
A slightly weaker dong marginally raises the local cost of dollar-priced feed imports, but the expected move is small and gives little reason to change feed purchasing.
