Darling Ingredients opened its third Nature Safe organic fertilizer plant in Fremont, Nebraska on July 1, 2019, with capacity of 35,000 tons annually. The facility will source feather meal, blood meal and meat and bone meal from nearby Darling rendering plants.
The plant adds US organic fertilizer capacity that uses rendered animal byproducts, a modest outlet for meat and bone meal and blood products. The effect on feed-ingredient prices is marginal.
