Bulgarian sunflower seed trading was subdued as limited supply followed heavy processing of about 1.53 million mt and exports of 730,000 mt this season. Stocks at the end of June were estimated at 198,000 mt, and harvest is expected in six to seven weeks.
Tight Bulgarian stocks ahead of harvest support sunflower seed prices, which feeds into sunflower meal availability in the export market. The effect on feed-grade protein prices is modest given Bulgaria's regional scale.
