ICE canola futures and the Canola Board Margin Index closed on July 19, 2019, showing crush margins in both Canadian and US dollars for several contract months. The index was higher than the prior week and month and well above year-ago levels.
Higher crush margins encourage processors to run plants at full capacity, which supports demand for canola seed and the meal it produces.
