The U.S. Grains Council, using MAP funds, worked with Irish feed industry participants to promote DDGS in swine diets. A leading Irish feed mill raised DDGS inclusion in its pig feed from 0% to 15%.
That mill produces about 500,000 metric tons of pig feed annually.
The mill's switch adds roughly 75,000 tons of annual U.S. DDGS demand, worth about $17.2 million. If other mills follow, export demand for DDGS in swine feed could grow.
