Manildra Meat Company has applied to run a six-month trial that would use part of the Cootamundra Abattoir rendering plant to process small south coast fish into fish meal and oil. The company says fish feedstock could make the plant profitable over the longer term.
The trial is a small local feedstock change, but it could add modest fish meal and oil supply for aquaculture feed in Australia.
