DTN reported the domestic DDG weekly average spot price rose $3 to $139 per ton for the week ended September 19. Ethanol plant idlings, including Siouxland Energy's Iowa plant, pushed the count of idled plants this year above 15 and tightened DDG supplies in some states.
Tighter DDG supply from ethanol plant closures supports firmer feed prices and a higher value relative to corn. Buyers should expect continued price support while plant slowdowns persist.
