Statistics Canada reported that Canadian canola crush in August 2019 was 829,778 tonnes, down 2.89% from July but the second-highest monthly total of the year. Canola oil output was 362,351 tonnes and meal output was 465,424 tonnes, both slightly lower than July.
August crush margins averaged C$81.70 per tonne.
Steady crush near record-pace levels supports domestic demand for canola and keeps meal and oil supplies firm for feed buyers, while the modest month-on-month dip is seasonal and unlikely to shift prices much.
