Finnish fertilizer prices have stayed stable through autumn and are lower than a year ago. World Bank data show urea fell to $237 per ton in September from $262 in August, and DAP fell to $286 from $293, the cheapest in ten years.
Many farmers bought next season's fertilizer early in July.
Falling urea and DAP prices reduce input costs for feed-grain producers and point to a soft fertilizer complex. Early forward buying by farmers may also ease pressure on manufacturers to raise prices.
