At a FreightWaves event, DTN and FreightWaves analysts said IMO 2020 has so far had little visible effect on diesel prices relative to crude. Other market reactions, such as in high sulfur fuel oil, were noted but not in diesel.
With no clear diesel reaction, the IMO 2020 demand shock for distillates looks limited, so there is little direct price pull from this source for oil-based feed inputs.
