The Canola Council says Canada is diversifying canola seed sales beyond China, with strong demand from Europe and new buyers such as the UAE, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Canadian seed exports to the UAE rose 816 per cent in August and September year over year, much of it crushed and re-exported as oil to China.
Diversified seed demand helps offset lost Chinese purchases, which supports Canadian canola prices, though the shift is gradual.
