Peru's Ministerial Resolution No. 483-2019-PRODUCE approved the start of the second 2019 anchovy season in the north-central zone, with a quota of 2,786,000 metric tons from November 16. The quota follows IMARPE's recommendation based on an estimated biomass of 8.34 million tons.
The official quota confirms a large anchovy catch that will increase fishmeal supply through the season, which pressures prices lower.
