Slavkaliy, Belarus's second potash mining company, has finished six 140-metre artesian wells to supply water to its Nezhinsky processing plant. Road, water conduit and storage works are complete, and grid connection is planned for spring 2020.
The plant is planned to produce up to 2 million tonnes of potassium chloride per year.
This is construction progress on a future supply source that will not add tonnes to the market before the plant is commissioned. Its effect on prices is long-term and limited.
