Highly pathogenic avian influenza was confirmed in the Vinnytsia region of Ukraine, the first outbreak in the country in three years. The OIE says 4,856 birds died and the remaining 98,000-bird flock was culled, and MHP, Ukraine's largest exporter to the EU, says its operations are not threatened.
A single farm outbreak in a major exporter is a limited supply hit, so the impact on feed and poultry prices is small unless the disease spreads or triggers wider export restrictions.
