Indian animal feed producers have asked the state-owned Cotton Corporation of India to release cottonseed stocks, as feed prices have increased. CCI has bought 3.1 million tons of cotton so far this season, and cottonseed prices are up from December.
Holding back cottonseed keeps raw material supply tight for feed makers and supports cottonseed meal prices. A release would ease feed costs.
