Indian feed manufacturers have asked the state-run Cotton Corporation of India to release cottonseed stocks, as animal feed prices have risen. CCI has extracted over 200,000 tons of cottonseed that has not yet reached the market, and cottonseed prices have climbed to about $40 per quintal from $34 in December.
Holding back cottonseed tightens supply for feed millers and supports cottonseed meal prices. Releasing the stocks would ease both cottonseed oil and feed prices.
