DTN's hypothetical 50-million-gallon ethanol plant reported a net loss of 31.8 cents per gallon including debt service, slightly narrower than January's loss. Corn cost fell to $3.80 per bushel while the ethanol rack price dropped to $1.40 per gallon, and DDG held at $140 per ton.
Persistent ethanol margin losses from rising stocks and weak cash prices may slow plant grind and reduce corn and DDGS output. Flat DDG prices reflect weak domestic winter demand.
