K+S Group says it finds it difficult to predict how the global potash market will behave in 2020 because of significant uncertainty. It cites the lack of supply contracts for export to China and the coronavirus outbreak as negative factors.
The company expects potassium chloride prices could rise only in the second half of 2020.
Without Chinese supply contracts and with pandemic uncertainty, potash prices are likely to stay soft in the near term, which lowers fertilizer input costs for crop producers. A recovery is only expected later in 2020.
