Low pathogenic avian influenza H6N1 has been confirmed in ten flocks in Co Monaghan, Ireland, eight of them table egg layers and two turkey flocks. Egg production is down as much as 15%, and supply is being sourced from outside the country.
Lost layer output in a small market has little effect on feed grain prices, though it may modestly lift demand for imported eggs and poultry feed inputs locally.
