China's commerce ministry (MOFCOM) extended its anti-dumping investigation into methionine imports from Singapore, Malaysia and Japan by six months, with a new final determination deadline of October 10, 2020. The probe began April 10, 2019 and was triggered by an application from Ningxia Unisplendour Tianhua Methionine.
The delay keeps potential anti-dumping duties on Asian methionine imports uncertain for longer, supporting domestic Chinese methionine supply and prices in the near term. Feed formulators relying on imported methionine may face continued cost pressure until the ruling.
