USPOULTRY reported that an Auburn University study tested dietary levels of lysine, vitamin C, phytase and potassium to reduce woody breast in broilers. The treatments did not change the incidence or severity of woody breast or white striping.
The null result means no feed-based fix for woody breast is available, so processors keep facing quality downgrades and no new feed demand shift is created.
