Kenya's National Trading Corporation has partnered with OCP Kenya to sell 50kg bags of DAP at Ksh2,300, down from Ksh2,800-3,200. The deal follows the suspension of the subsidized fertilizer program in March 2020 and supplies 60,000 bags to planting regions.
OCP will import fertilizer while KNTC manages distribution.
Government-linked distribution lowers local DAP retail prices and removes middlemen, but the effect is limited to Kenya and does not change global phosphate supply or prices.
After 50 past bearish policy events, DAP moved a median +0.9% over 5 sessions (62% higher; middle half -0.1% to +1.6%), and +0.9% over 20.
