The European Palm Oil Alliance published a position paper setting out regulations to achieve 100% sustainable, deforestation-free palm oil in Europe. It said only 60% of palm oil bought by European food producers and supermarkets is sustainable, despite ample supply.
The gap between sustainable supply and demand suggests that buyers may pay more for certified palm oil if EU due diligence rules are adopted, supporting premiums in the vegetable oil complex.
After 513 past neutral policy events, Palm Oil moved a median 0.0% over 5 sessions (50% higher; middle half -1.6% to +1.4%), and -0.1% over 20.
