Clemson University officials released the 10-kilometer control area around a Chesterfield County, South Carolina turkey farm struck by highly pathogenic avian influenza in April. Testing of all commercial flocks in the area found no virus, and no control areas remain active in the state.
The release removes movement restrictions, a minor positive for local poultry supply; the outbreak was small and contained, so the price impact is limited.
