Belarus cut potash fertilizer exports by 14.1% year on year in January-April 2020 to 1.888 million tonnes (100% nutrient), with value down 28.4% to $715.1 million. Belaruskali ran at about 30% of capacity from September 2019 to April 2020 amid weak prices, and new contracts were signed at $220/t for China and $230/t for India, well below previous prices.
Lower-priced long-term contracts with China and India confirm weak global potash pricing, a signal of cheap potash and ample supply for fertilizer costs in feed grain and oilseed production.
