The Indian rupee, Asia's worst-performing currency this year, is forecast by a Bloomberg survey to strengthen to 75 per dollar by December, about 1% above Friday's close of 75.6475. The currency has fallen 5.6% in 2020, and foreign inflows into Indian stocks have been strong.
A firmer rupee raises the cost of Indian dollar-priced imports, while the expected current-account surplus and inflows reduce pressure on India's import-dependent feed inputs. The effect on global feed grain prices is marginal.
