Muller held its farmgate milk price at 29p per litre for February after cutting it 1.5p for January. Arla's January price fell 1.3p to 31p per litre, and December wholesale prices for cream, butter, skim milk powder and mild cheddar dropped 14%, 11%, 3% and 8% month over month.
Falling wholesale dairy product values are pulling farmgate milk prices lower across UK processors. Continued weakness in butter and cream points to further downward pressure on milk returns.
